TRANSMISSION #3 now. Fully activated by lockdown with more definite ideas - heavy rhythms, dub echo, cut-up techniques, 70s organ, electronic drones, percussion, percussion, percussion...

Nothing crisp, nothing clear - tape noise and dub contrails infect the tracks. (((MONEY EATS))) a rolling beat, obscured by babble, echoes and a ghostly synth figure… a lazy organ next, eventually a vocal.

"the power of collage to 'alienate'... to give new meanings when placed in conjunction with new elements and in new contexts"

(((AMERICAN CENTURY))) a 'jazz fake' set in Interzone, bass and eerie keys rising out of the static; (((LAST WALK TO BLIND LAKE))) part Twin Peaks tribute, part dubby western theme; (((RUB OUT THE WORDS))) applies cut-up techniques over a post-punk bassline..

"cut the senses, the place of sand"

(((RADIO TNGR))) calling, calling, calling... "cut the word lines and you will hear their voices"; (((LANARKITES]))) cry out across the valley, tinny organ and fat drums echoing off arable slopes until the locals move their feet in unison; (((LEATHEROID V. THE ATOMIC BOMB))) - who will win? electrical guitars and electronical synthesisers engaged in a battle as old as time...

"remounting, cutting up, sticking down and activating"

(((THOUSANDS DEAD))) blurry dub-rock hybrid, the vocal trying unconvincingly to pull an optimistic line [cut from Ulay/Marina] out of the post-pandemic stress-fest, all together now... ; I see (((DRONES OVER INTERZONE))), I see a man from nowhere creating a poem on the spot by pulling words out of a hat; (((HANNAH HOCH SEZ))) check your head.

TRANSMISSION #3 is about creating sound-worlds, achieving the escape velocity to transport you to another time or place.

Certaines créations sont comme une halte, une pause dans l'espace-temps. Marla Van Horn, tout en ayant un style reconnaissable, une marque de fabrique, arrive à se renouveler sans cesse : IKUISESTI ne le démontre que trop bien. Restant fidèle au drone qu'elle exécute à merveille — "SYMUSTA" ou "HÄMÄRÄ" et sa guitare vibrante —, elle s'applique à créer un dark ambiant magnifique qui n'a rien à envier aux maîtres du genre, surtout sur la conclusion de l'album.
